Aamir Khan never fails to keep up with the legacy of experimenting with meaningful scripts and he has proved this yet again in his recent release “Dangal”. The trailer of the movie had already laid out the script in our minds and Aamir Khan used the stage flawlessly to deliver a thought provoking message for the taboo-ridden Indian society.
Mahavir Singh Phogat (Aamir) plays the role of a wrestler in Haryana who has lost the hope of having a son and sets out on an emotional journey to break the stereotype that men are more worthy or superior than women in terms of physical strength. Being a stubborn father, he trains his daughters Geeta (Fatima) and Babita (Sanya) to fulfill his long-sought dream of winning a gold medal for India. The girls end up becoming wrestling champions. Aamir Khan did not play safe with another challenging role in Dangal and has successfully spread the message that girls are no less. One must go against all odds and should keep faith in himself because nothing worth having comes easy.
Concluding it all on Aamir’s intriguing dialogue from the film “In a dangal before you wrestle your opponents, you need to wrestle your fears”. No wonder, we must let this absorb in our minds this year.
