Chupan Chupai Movie Review: The Rise of New Talent!

The film Chupan Chupai is a well-done flick and a breath of fresh air for Pakistani cinema. It is a comedy-thriller film which is directed by Mohsin Ali. The film features Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Faizan Khawaja, Talat Hussain, Adnan Jaffar, Sakina Samo, Wajdaan Shah, Rehan Sheikh, Saife Hasan and more. It was released on 29th under the production banner of Huzu Productions.

The movie is about four boys and a girl, who try to make money by kidnapping low profile people. However, a major twist comes in their lives when they kidnap Minister’s son.

Furthermore, the great performances of Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Faizan Khawaja, Ali Rizvi, Wajdan Shah and Zaid Sheikh have made the film alive and fun. The film story grips you in the first 30 minutes and leaves you to laugh and clap during the movie. However, it has many hilarious and funny punch lines keeping the audience entertained. Moreover, we personally think, Neelam Muneer should have gotten more screen time. However, she looks breathtakingly beautiful and acts nicely as per the role. Whereas, Ahsan Khan looks handsome and sexy in the songs and it was a treat to watch him in a comedy role.

Having said that, the music of the film complements with the film. The background score and soundtracks by Soch Band (Adnan Dhool and Rabi Ahmed) are pretty awesome.

In addition to that, the film has few loopholes in screenplay, plot and direction. Also, it could have been shorter in duration. But we still support local cinema as it is a film of new actors, new director and new producers.

The film Chupan Chupai, shot in Karachi, is an almost truthful depiction of what life is like in Pakistan.

On the whole – Chupan Chupai is a really real and fun movie to watch!

Rating: 4/5
